خون روتی ہوئی اقوام کا دکھ
کھا نہ جائے کہیں ہنگام کا دکھ
چند لفظوں میں کہاں آئے گا
وقت رفتہ ترے ایام کا دکھ
ہم نے فرقت کی سیہ راتوں میں
اوڑھ رکھا تھا ترے نام کا دکھ
تم نے بن باس کہاں کاٹا ہے
تم نہ سمجھو گے کبھی رام کا دکھ
تم جو ہو شہر طرب کے باسی
تم بتاؤگے ہمیں شام کا دکھ
اس میں غرقاب ہوئے تو یاروں
ہم نے جانا ہے بہت کام کا دکھ

waqt-e-rafta tere ayyam ka dukh
hum ne furqat ki siyah raaton mein
oDh rakkha tha tere nam ka dukh
tum ne ban-bas kahan kaTa hai
tum na samjhoge kabhi ram ka dukh
tum jo ho shahr-e-tarab ke basi
tum bataoge hamein sham ka dukh
is mein gharqab hue to yaron
hum ne jaana hai bahut kaam ka dukh
