ٹھیک ہی کہہ رہے ہو تم ٹھیک نہ ہو سکا تو پھر

اس کو بھلانے لگ گئے اس میں زمانے لگ گئے

بعد میں یاد آ گیا وہ کوئی اور تھا تو پھر

پھول ہے جو کتاب میں اصل ہے کہ خواب ہے

اس نے اس اضطراب میں کچھ نہ پڑھا لکھا تو پھر

راستے اجنبی سے تھے پیڑ تھے سو کسی کے تھے

یہ کوئی سوچتا تو کیوں اور کوئی سوچتا تو پھر

اب اسے خواب جان کے سو رہو لمبی تان کے

یاد نہ آ سکا تو کیا یاد بھی آ گیا تو پھر
