عفت زریں
ذہن و دل کے فاصلے تھے ہم جنہیں سہتے رہے
ایک ہی گھر میں بہت سے اجنبی رہتے رہے
دور تک ساحل پہ دل کے آبلوں کا عکس تھا
کشتیاں شعلوں کی دریا موم کے بہتے رہے
کیسے پہنچے منزلوں تک وحشتوں کے قافلے
ہم سرابوں سے سفر کی داستاں کہتے رہے
آنے والے موسموں کو تازگی ملتی گئی
اپنی فصل آرزو کو ہم خزاں کہتے رہے
کیسے مٹ پائیں گی زریںؔ یہ حدیں افکار کی
ٹوٹ کر دل کے کنارے دور تک بہتے رہے

dur tak sahil pe dil ke aablon ka aks tha
kashtiyan sholon ki dariya mom ke bahte rahe
kaise pahunche manzilon tak wahshaton ke qafile
hum sarabon se safar ki dastan kahte rahe
aane wale mausamon ko tazgi milti gai
apni fasl-e-arzu ko hum KHizan kahte rahe
kaise miT paengi 'zarrin' ye haden afkar ki
TuT kar dil ke kinare dur tak bahte rahe
