مدت ہوئی تھی گھر میں چراغاں کئے ہوئے
پوچھو نہ مجھ سے شہر نگاراں سے کیا ملا
پھرتا ہوں اپنا چاک گریباں کئے ہوئے
بھولیں گے ہم نہ آپ کے جور و ستم کبھی
بیٹھے ہیں اپنے سینے میں پنہاں کئے ہوئے
اک بار اور حال مرا دیکھ جائیے
مدت ہوئی ہے آپ کو احساں کئے ہوئے
آج آپ آ کے بخش دیں رنگینئ حیات
مدت ہوئی ہے جشن چراغاں کئے ہوئے

phirta hun apna chaak gareban kiye hue
bhulenge hum na aap ke jaur-o-sitam kabhi
baiThe hain apne sine mein pinhan kiye hue
ek bar aur haal mera dekh jaiye
muddat hui hai aap ko ehsan kiye hue
aaj aap aa ke baKHsh den rangini-e-hayat
muddat hui hai jashn-e-charaghan kiye hue
