توڑ دی اس نے وہ زنجیر ہی دل داری کی

اور تشہیر کرو اپنی گرفتاری کی

ہم تو صحرا ہوئے جاتے تھے کہ اس نے آ کر

شہر آباد کیا نہر صبا جاری کی

ہم بھی کیا شے ہیں طبیعت ملی سیارہ شکار

اور تقدیر ملی آہوئے تاتاری کی

اتنا سادہ ہے مرا مایۂ خوبی کہ مجھے

کبھی عادت نہ رہی آئنہ برداری کی

مرے گم گشتہ غزالوں کا پتہ پوچھتا ہے

فکر رکھتا ہے مسیحا مری بیماری کی

اس کے لہجے میں کوئی چیز تو شامل تھی کہ آج

دل پہ اس حرف عنایت نے گراں باری کی
