بستی بستی گھور اندھیرا سونا سونا جادہ تھا

شب کے پچھلے پہر کا سناٹا کچھ اور زیادہ تھا

صحن چمن میں روش روش پر آس کے پھول اگائے تھے

لیکن یہ محسوس ہوا ہر منظر پیش افتادہ تھا

لفظ کوئی آسیب نہ تھے لوگ اس کی صدا سے کیوں ڈرتے

وقت کے اندھے کنوئیں کا یہ آشوب تو سیدھا سادہ تھا

جیتے جاگتے پھول بدن میں کیسے کیسے روگ لگے

دل کا کیا ہے دل تو اپنے خوابوں کا شہزادہ تھا

مصلحتیں آڑے آئیں یا اہل جنوں دل چھوڑ گئے

جو ہونا ہے آج ہو جائے دل اس پر آمادہ تھا
