بہت بہا ہے زمانے میں خون انساں کا
کرو کچھ ایسا کہ دشمن نہ کوئی قاتل ہو
عجیب دور ہے دنیا میں کم نگاہی کا
کوئی تو نوح سا نکلے کہیں تو ساحل ہو
جہاں بھی دیکھو جمایا ہے ڈیرا غاصب نے
یہاں پہ کاش کوئی حق پرست و عادل ہو
ہر ایک سمت حکومت ہے دشمن آدم
کوئی تو فاتح ظلم اور رد باطل ہو
نہیں ہے شعر میں عشق و وفا صداقت کچھ
کوئی ہو غالبؔ و اقبالؔ کوئی بیدلؔ ہو
جلاؤ علم و محبت کی وہ حسیں شمعیں
نہ کوئی دشمنی رکھے نہ کوئی جاہل ہو

karo kuchh aisa ki dushman na koi qatil ho
ajib daur hai duniya mein kam-nigahi ka
koi to nuh sa nikle kahin to sahil ho
jahan bhi dekho jamaya hai Dera ghasib ne
yahan pe kash koi haq-parast-o-adil ho
har ek samt hukumat hai dushman-e-adam
koi to fateh-e-zulm aur radd-e-baatil ho
nahin hai sher mein ishq-o-wafa sadaqat kuchh
koi ho 'ghaalib'-o-'iqbaal' koi 'bedil' ho
jalao ilm-o-mohabbat ki wo hasin shamen
na koi dushmani rakkhe na koi jahil ho
