امتحان شوق میں ثابت قدم ہوتا نہیں

عشق جب تک واقف آداب غم ہوتا نہیں

ان کی خاطر سے کبھی ہم مسکرا اٹھے تو کیا

مسکرا لینے سے دل کا درد کم ہوتا نہیں

جو ستم ہم پر ہے اس کی نوعیت کچھ اور ہے

ورنہ کس پر آج دنیا میں ستم ہوتا نہیں

تم جہاں ہو بزم بھی ہے شمع بھی پروانہ بھی

ہم جہاں ہوتے ہیں یہ ساماں بہم ہوتا نہیں

رات بھر ہوتی ہیں کیا کیا انجمن آرائیاں

شمع کا کوئی شریک صبح غم ہوتا نہیں

مانگتا ہے ہم سے ساقی قطرے قطرے کا حساب

غیر سے کوئی حساب بیش و کم ہوتا نہیں
