یہ سچ ہے چراغاں تھا اجالا بھی بہت تھا

یہ سچ ہے چراغاں تھا اجالا بھی بہت تھا

بستی کو مگر خوف ہوا کا بھی بہت تھا

جس گھر کے در و بام پہ دیکھے گئے شعلے

کچھ روز سے اس گھر میں اندھیرا بھی بہت تھا

اچھا ہے جو دنیا نے مجھے چھوڑ دیا ہے

میں بھیڑ کے ہم راہ اکیلا بھی بہت تھا

موسم نے جسے کر دیا بے برگ و برہنہ

سنتا ہوں کہ اس پیڑ میں سایا بھی بہت تھا

اب دھوپ میں سوتا ہے جو کھولے ہوئے آنکھیں

گزری ہوئی راتوں میں وہ جاگا بھی بہت تھا

کیوں توڑ کے جاتا نہ وہ آئینہ ہمارا

ہم نے اسے شیشے میں اتارا بھی بہت تھا

ہیں ریت میں انسان کے ادھڑے ہوئے ناخن

حیرت کی نہیں بات وہ پیاسا بھی بہت تھا

کاظمؔ تھی بہت قدر کبھی اہل قلم کی

دنیا میں کبھی نام ہمارا بھی بہت تھا

ye sach hai charaghan tha ujala bhi bahut tha
basti ko magar KHauf hawa ka bhi bahut tha

jis ghar ke dar-o-baam pe dekhe gae shoale
kuchh roz se us ghar mein andhera bhi bahut tha

achchha hai jo duniya ne mujhe chhoD diya hai
main bhiD ke hamrah akela bhi bahut tha

mausam ne jise kar diya be-barg-o-barahna
sunta hun ki us peD mein saya bhi bahut tha

ab dhup mein sota hai jo khole hue aankhen
guzri hui raaton mein wo jaga bhi bahut tha

kyun toD ke jata na wo aaina hamara
hum ne use shishe mein utara bhi bahut tha

hain ret mein insan ke udhDe hue naKHun
hairat ki nahin baat wo pyasa bhi bahut tha

'kazim' thi bahut qadr kabhi ahl-e-qalam ki
duniya mein kabhi nam hamara bhi bahut tha
