مہندر پرتاپ چاند

مجبوری لاچاری لکھ

ہاں روداد ہماری لکھ

غیروں کو الزام نہ دے

اپنوں کی عیاری لکھ

سوچ جو ہلکی ہے تو کیا

غزلیں بھاری بھاری لکھ

عیب نہ گنوا اوروں کے

اپنی کارگزاری لکھ

پہلے جھوٹے وعدے کر

پھر اپنی لاچاری لکھ

چاہے حقیقت کچھ بھی ہو

اپنا پلڑا بھاری لکھ

اجڑے گھر کے آنگن میں

ہری بھری پھلواری لکھ

ہر منصب ہر عہدے پر

اپنی دعوے داری لکھ

مات پتا کو دے بن واس

خود کو آگیا کاری لکھ

چاندؔ کی خصلت میں یا رب

کچھ تو دنیا داری لکھ

apnon ki ayyari likh

soch jo halki hai to kya
ghazlen bhaari bhaari likh

aib na ginwa auron ke
apni kar-guzari likh

pahle jhuTe wade kar
phir apni lachaari likh

chahe haqiqat kuchh bhi ho
apna palDa bhaari likh

ujDe ghar ke aangan mein
hari-bhari phulwari likh

har mansab har ohde par
apni dawe-dari likh

mat-pita ko de ban-was
KHud ko aagya-kari likh

'chand' ki KHaslat mein yarab
kuchh to duniya-dari likh
