اک بار مل کے پھر نہ کبھی عمر بھر ملے

دو اجنبی تھے ہم جو سر رہ گزر ملے

کچھ منزلوں کے خواب تھے کچھ راستوں کے دھول

نکلے سفر پہ ہم تو یہی ہم سفر ملے

یوں اپنی سرسری سی ملاقات خود سے تھی

جیسے کسی سے کوئی سر رہ گزر ملے

اک شخص کھو گیا ہے جو رستے کی بھیڑ میں

اس کا پتہ چلے تو کچھ اپنی خبر ملے

اپنے سفر میں یوں تو اکیلا ہوں میں مگر

سایہ سا ایک راہ کے ہر موڑ پر ملے

برسوں میں گھر ہم آئے تو بیگانہ وار آج

ہم سے خود اپنے گھر کے ہی دیوار و در ملے

مخمورؔ ہم بھی رقص کریں موج گل کے ساتھ

کھل کر جو ہم سے موسم دیوانہ گر ملے
