ٹھنڈ کھا کر ٹھٹھر گئے پتے

آندھیوں میں بکھر گئے پتے

پیڑ ہر راہ چلنے والے سے

پوچھتے ہیں کدھر گئے پتے

آئے لے کر جلوس آہوں کا

سر جھکائے گزر گئے پتے

اتنا سنسان تو نہ تھا منظر

جتنا سنسان کر گئے پتے

دل کی پگڈنڈیاں اداس ہیں آج

کوئی کہتا ہے مر گئے پتے
