جس نے باندھے ہیں سارے پر میرے

اس کے ہی گرد ہیں سفر میرے

ایک خواہش نے کتنا توڑ دیا

کھو گئے مجھ سے سب ہنر میرے

غم یہ جاتے نہیں کسی جانب

ہو گئے ہیں کچھ اس قدر میرے

غیر محسوس بیڑیاں ہیں کئی

یوں بندھے تجھ سے سب سفر میرے

یوں تو کتنی دعائیں تھیں لیکن

بے ثمر ہی رہے شجر میرے

دے کے آزادیاں مجھے انجمؔ

روز اس نے تراشے پر میرے

us ke hi gird hain safar mere

ek KHwahish ne kitna toD diya
kho gae mujh se sab hunar mere

gham ye jate nahin kisi jaanib
ho gae hain kuchh is qadar mere

ghair mahsus beDiyan hain kai
yun bandhe tujh se sab safar mere

yun to kitni duaen thin lekin
be-samar hi rahe shajar mere

de ke aazadiyan mujhe 'anjum'
roz us ne tarashe par mere
