عہد جنوں میں بیٹھے بیٹھے جو غزلیں لکھ ڈالی تھیں

ہم کو رسوا دنیا بھر کو پاگل کرنے والی تھیں

آنکھوں میں وہ شام کا ٹکڑا اکثر چبھتا رہتا ہے

گھر میں آندھی جب آئی تھی شمعیں جلنے والی تھیں

چاند ستارے ٹوٹ رہے تھے خوابوں کی انگنائی میں

آنکھ کھلی تو دیکھا گھر کی سب دیواریں کالی تھیں

چٹکی بھر امید نہیں تھی کاسہ لے کر کیا پھرتے

شہر وفا کی ساری گلیاں اپنی دیکھی بھالی تھیں

پیار کا موسم بیت چکا تھا بستی میں جب پہنچے ہم

لوگوں نے پھولوں کے بدلے تلواریں منگوا لی تھیں

قیصرؔ دل کا حال سنا کر جب یاروں کا منہ دیکھا

سب کے چہرے سوکھے سوکھے سب کی آنکھیں خالی تھیں
