نظر شعلوں پہ رکھی تھی زباں پتھر پہ رکھی تھی

ہمارے خواب تو شہروں کی سڑکوں پر بھٹکتے تھے

تمہاری یاد تھی جو رات بھر بستر پہ رکھی تھی

میں اپنا عزم لے کر منزلوں کی سمت نکلا تھا

مشقت ہاتھ پہ رکھی تھی قسمت گھر پہ رکھی تھی

انہیں سانسوں کے چکر نے ہمیں وہ دن دکھائے تھے

ہمارے پاؤں کی مٹی ہمارے سر پہ رکھی تھی

سحر تک تم جو آ جاتے تو منظر دیکھ سکتے تھے

دئیے پلکوں پہ رکھے تھے شکن بستر پہ رکھی تھی
