دھند میں لپٹے ہوئے منظر بہت اچھے لگے
ٹمٹماتی روشنی میں گھر بہت اچھے لگے
زندگی کے راستوں پر رینگتے لوگوں کے بیچ
سر اٹھاتے بولتے کچھ سر بہت اچھے لگے
برف زاروں سے اترتے جھومتے دریاؤں میں
پانیوں کو روکتے پتھر بہت اچھے لگے
آج بھی باقی ہیں جن سے اس نگر کی رونقیں
دائروں کے بیچ وہ محور بہت اچھے لگے
زندگی تیری انا کو روند کر آتے ہوئے
بادشاہ وقت کو لشکر بہت اچھے لگے
مان کر بھی تم نے ہم کو عمر بھر مانا نہیں
کیا ہوا ہے آج ہم مر کر بہت اچھے لگے

aaj bhi baqi hain jin se is nagar ki raunaqen
daeron ke bich wo mehwar bahut achchhe lage
zindagi teri ana ko raund kar aate hue
baadshah-e-waqt ko lashkar bahut achchhe lage
man kar bhi tum ne hum ko umr bhar mana nahin
kya hua hai aaj hum mar kar bahut achchhe lage
