دن ہوا قتل رات باقی ہے

ہو گئی دفن آس کی دلہن

درد و غم کی برات باقی ہے

کیا ہوا ساتھ آپ نے چھوڑا

غم زدہ دل کا سات باقی ہے

زندگی گو نہیں ہے شہروں میں

جنگلوں میں حیات باقی ہے

بات تو ہو چکی تھی ختم مگر

جانے کیوں پھر بھی بات باقی ہے

رنج سہنے کے واسطے شاغلؔ

اک ہماری ہی ذات باقی ہے
