اہل دنیا کے لیے یہ ماجرا ہے مختلف
پتھروں کے شہر میں ایک آئنہ ہے مختلف
میرے بچے کتنے حیراں ہیں کہ ان کے واسطے
پیش رو کے نقش پا کا سلسلہ ہے مختلف
ڈولتی ہے سانس کے طوفاں میں کشتی زیست کی
بادبانی کے لیے اب کے ہوا ہے مختلف
ساعتوں کی دھوپ نے جب بھی تسلی دی گھنی
قد و قامت اپنے سائے کا ملا ہے مختلف
چن لیں آنکھوں سے ہماری نیند کی سب کرچیاں
وقت کے گونگے قبیلے کی سزا ہے مختلف
دیکھیے تو سبز کھیتوں میں شعاعوں کا ہے رقص
سوچیے تو موسم رنگ ادا ہے مختلف
چشم حیرت سے نہ یوں دیکھا کریں شاہین بدرؔ
موسم اخلاص کی ٹھنڈی ہوا ہے مختلف

pattharon ke shahr mein ek aaina hai muKHtalif
mere bachche kitne hairan hain ki in ke waste
pesh-rau ke naqsh-e-pa ka silsila hai muKHtalif
Dolti hai sans ke tufan mein kashti zist ki
baadbani ke liye ab ke hawa hai muKHtalif
saaton ki dhup ne jab bhi tasalli di ghani
qadd-o-qamat apne sae ka mila hai muKHtalif
chun len aankhon se hamari nind ki sab kirchiyan
waqt ke gunge qabile ki saza hai muKHtalif
dekhiye to sabz kheton mein shuaon ka hai raqs
sochiye to mausam-e-rang-e-ada hai muKHtalif
chashm-e-hairat se na yun dekha karen 'shahin-badr'
mausam-e-iKHlas ki ThanDi hawa hai muKHtalif
