روشنی لینے چلے تھے اور اندھیرے چھا گئے
مسکرانے بھی نہ پائے تھے کہ آنسو آ گئے
آج کتنے دوست مجھ کو دیکھ کر کترا گئے
اللہ اللہ اب محبت میں یہ دن بھی آ گئے
جب بھی آیا ہے کسی کو بھول جانے کا خیال
یک بیک آواز آئی لیجئے ہم آ گئے
آہ وہ منزل جو میری غفلتوں سے گم ہوئی
ہائے وہ رہبر جو مجھ کو راہ سے بھٹکا گئے
پھر یہ رہ رہ کر کسی کی یاد تڑپاتی ہے کیوں
اب تو ہم ترک محبت کی قسم بھی کھا گئے
دیکھ کر ان کی نگاہ لطف اک مدت کے بعد
کیا بتائیں کیا خیال آیا کہ آنسو آ گئے
ان کے ہی قدموں کی آہٹ رات بھر آتی رہی
دل کی ہر دھڑکن پہ ہم سمجھے کہ وہ خود آ گئے
اب کوئی دیر و حرم سے بھی صدا آتی نہیں
ہم تری دھن میں خدا جانے کہاں تک آ گئے

aaj kitne dost mujh ko dekh kar katra gae
allah allah ab mohabbat mein ye din bhi aa gae
jab bhi aaya hai kisi ko bhul jaane ka KHayal
yak-ba-yak aawaz aai lijiye hum aa gae
aah wo manzil jo meri ghaflaton se gum hui
hae wo rahbar jo mujh ko rah se bhaTka gae
phir ye rah rah kar kisi ki yaad taDpati hai kyun
ab to hum tark-e-mohabbat ki qasam bhi kha gae
dekh kar un ki nigah-e-lutf ek muddat ke baad
kya bataen kya KHayal aaya ki aansu aa gae
un ke hi qadmon ki aahaT raat bhar aati rahi
dil ki har dhaDkan pe hum samjhe ki wo KHud aa gae
ab koi dair o haram se bhi sada aati nahin
hum teri dhun mein KHuda jaane kahan tak aa gae
