شوقِ محبت کبھی ہم سے بڑھایا بھی نہیں گیا

اپنے باغ کو اس مہک سے مہکایا بھی نہیں گیا

پلٹ کر نہیں دیکھتے اب تلخ یادوں سے بھرے ورق

مگر صفحہِ دل سے ان کا ذکر مٹایا بھی نہیں گیا

ہنسی ہی رہی ہے ہمارے تعاقب میں ہر شام یہاں

ان اداس قہقہوں کو سینے سے لگایا بھی نہیں گیا

غم کیا شے ہے فقط اس لفظ کی تشریح کر بیٹھے

اپنے آپ سے ملا ہوا غم بتایا بھی نہیں گیا

دل سے خیالِ دوست نکال بھی دیا ہے اب تو

ان یادوں کو دل سے مگر بھلایا بھی نہیں گیا

ترکِ محبت تو کر ہی چکے تھے ہم دونوں ہی

مگر یہ کیا کہ ہجر کی چبھن کوگھٹایا بھی نہیں گیا

لمحوں کی زوردار آہٹیں گزرتی ہی جا رہی ہیں

دل سے کئی آہٹوں کا نشاں مٹایا بھی نہیں گیا

گم ہے کہیں اپنی ہی الجھنوں میں وہ بھی

روٹھا ہے وہ ہم سے یوں کہ منایا بھی نہیں گیا

سلسلہ وار کہتی رہی اپنے لفظوں سے کہانیاں کنول

حرفوں سے اپنی آشنائی کو چھپایا بھی نہیں گیا
