کارگر ہے مانتا ہوں خامشی

شور تیرا جانتا ہوں خامشی

میں بھی اپنے طرز کا سودائی ہوں

مثلِ صحرا چھانتا ہوں خامشی

ایک دریائے سکوں بہتا ہوا

تیری موجیں مانتا ہوں خامشی

کھول دیتا ہوں زباں کے تالے سب

اور کبھی میں تانتا ہوں خاموشی

کال پر بھی بولنے سے ہے گریز

گفتگو گردانتا ہوں خامشی

میں کہ اک آواز کو ترسا ہوا

اب غنیمت جانتا ہوں خامشی

کون سچی اور جھوٹی کون ہے

اب میں کچھ پہچانتا ہوں خامشی

اے مرے دل شورِ ناقدری نہ کر

ہاں تجھے میں مانتا ہوں, خامشی!!!!
