دریائے تند موج کو صحرا بتائیے

سیدھا بھی ہو سوال تو الٹا بتائیے

جیسا بھی ہے وہ سامنے سب کے ہے کس لیے

ایسا بتائیے اسے ویسا بتائیے

کیوں چھوڑ کر گیا تھا وہ کیوں پھر سے آ گیا

آگے بتا بھی سکتے تھے اب کیا بتائیے

محفل کی رونقیں ہوں کہ بازار کا ہجوم

یہ دل جہاں بھی ہو اسے تنہا بتائیے

یا قتل کیجئے اسے اپنے ہی نام پر

یا اجنبی کو شہر کا رستا بتائیے

جس کی کبھی جھلک بھی نہ دیکھی ہو عمر بھر

تو ہی بتا ظفرؔ اسے کیسا بتائیے
