کبھی ترستے رہے اور کبھی بہت آئی

مرے فلک سے وہ طوفاں نہیں اٹھا پھر سے

مری زمین میں وہ تھرتھری بہت آئی

جدھر سے کھول کے بیٹھے تھے در اندھیرے کا

اسی طرف سے ہمیں روشنی بہت آئی

وہاں مقام تو رونے کا تھا مگر اے دوست

ترے فراق میں ہم کو ہنسی بہت آئی

رواں رہے سفر مرگ پر یونہی ورنہ

ہماری راہ میں یہ زندگی بہت آئی

یہاں کچھ اپنی ہواؤں میں بھی اڑے ہیں بہت

ہمارے خواب میں کچھ وہ پری بہت آئی

نہ تھا زیادہ کچھ احساس جس کے ہونے کا

چلا گیا ہے تو اس کی کمی بہت آئی

نہ جانے کیوں مری نیت بدل گئی یک دم

وگرنہ اس پہ طبیعت مری بہت آئی

ظفرؔ شعور تو آیا نہیں ذرا بھی ہمیں

بجائے اس کے مگر شاعری بہت آئی
