وہ کسی اور سمت جاتے رہے

وہ کسی اور سمت جاتے رہے

ہم فقط اپنا دل جلاتے رہے

اس کی انگڑائی کیا قیامت تھی

ہم نئے زاویے بناتے رہے

ہر طرف رات کا نظارہ تھا

دل بنا کر دیا جلاتے رہے

اس کے لہجے سے لگ رہا تھا کہ ہم

پتھروں کو غزل سناتے رہے

ہم فقط زاہدان خشک نہیں

بات بگڑی ہوئی بناتے رہے

اس کی آنکھیں تھیں عام سی آنکھیں

ہم سخن یوں ہی ڈگمگاتے رہے

دنیا روتی رہی مگر ہم لوگ

قہقہوں میں کسک چھپاتے رہے

hum faqat apna dil jalate rahe

us ki angDai kya qayamat thi
hum nae zawiye banate rahe

har taraf raat ka nazara tha
dil bana kar diya jalate rahe

us ke lahje se lag raha tha ki hum
pattharon ko ghazal sunate rahe

hum faqat zahidan-e-KHushk nahin
baat bigDi hui banate rahe

us ki aankhen thin aam si aankhen
ham-suKHan yunhi Dagmagate rahe

duniya roti rahi magar hum log
qahqahon mein kasak chhupate rahe
