خیال تھا ترے پہلو میں کچھ سکوں ہوگا

مگر یہاں بھی وہی اضطراب پیہم ہے

مرے مذاق الم آشنا کا کیا ہوگا

تری نگاہ میں شعلے ہیں اب نہ شبنم ہے

سحر سے رشتۂ امید باندھنے والے

چراغ زیست کی لو شام ہی سے مدھم ہے

یہ کس مقام پہ لے آئی زندگی راہیؔ

کہ ہر قدم پہ عجب بے بسی کا عالم ہے
