جانا تو بہت دور ہے مہتاب سے آگے

بڑھتے ہی نہیں پاؤں ترے خواب سے آگے

کچھ اور حسیں موڑ تھے روداد سفر میں

لکھا نہ مگر کچھ بھی ترے باب سے آگے

تہذیب کی زنجیر سے الجھا رہا میں بھی

تو بھی نہ بڑھا جسم کے آداب سے آگے

موتی کے خزانے بھی تہہ آب چھپے تھے

نکلا نہ کوئی خطرۂ گرداب سے آگے

دیکھو تو کبھی دشت بھی آباد ہے کیسا

نکلو تو ذرا خطۂ شاداب سے آگے

بچھڑا تو نہیں کوئی تمہارا بھی سفر میں

کیوں بھاگے چلے جاتے ہو بیتاب سے آگے

دنیا کا چلن دیکھ کے لگتا تو یہی ہے

اب کچھ بھی نہیں عالم اسباب سے آگے
