یاں تشنہ کامیاں تو مقدر ہیں زیست میں

ملتی ہے حوصلے کے برابر کبھی کبھی

آتی ہے دھار ان کے کرم سے شعور میں

دشمن ملے ہیں دوست سے بہتر کبھی کبھی

منزل کی جستجو میں جسے چھوڑ آئے تھے

آتا ہے یاد کیوں وہی منظر کبھی کبھی

مانا یہ زندگی ہے فریبوں کا سلسلہ

دیکھو کسی فریب کے جوہر کبھی کبھی

یوں تو نشاط کار کی سرشاریاں ملیں

انجام کار کا بھی رہا ڈر کبھی کبھی

دل کی جو بات تھی وہ رہی دل میں اے سرورؔ

کھولے ہیں گرچہ شوق کے دفتر کبھی کبھی
