مجھے روشنی کی تلاش تھی مجھے روشنی کی تلاش ہے

غم زندگی کے فشار میں تری آرزو کے غبار میں

اسی بے حسی کے حصار میں مجھے زندگی کی تلاش ہے

یہ جو سرسری سی نشاط ہے یہ تو چند لمحوں کی بات ہے

مری روح تک جو اتر سکے مجھے اس خوشی کی تلاش ہے

یہ جو آگ سی ہے دبی دبی نہیں دوستو مرے کام کی

وہ جو ایک آن میں پھونک دے اسی شعلگی کی تلاش ہے

یہ جو ساختہ سے ہیں قہقہے مرے دل کو لگتے ہیں بوجھ سے

وہ جو اپنے آپ میں مست ہو مجھے اس ہنسی کی تلاش ہے

یہ جو میل جول کی بات ہے یہ جو مجلسی سی حیات ہے

مجھے اس سے کوئی غرض نہیں مجھے دوستی کی تلاش ہے
