نظر کو وقف حیرت کر دیا ہے

اسے بھی دل سے رخصت کر دیا ہے

برائے نام تھا آرام جس کو

غزل کہہ کر مصیبت کر دیا ہے

سمجھتے ہیں کہاں پتھر کسی کی

مگر اتمام حجت کر دیا ہے

گلی کوچوں میں جلتی روشنی نے

حسیں شاموں کو شامت کر دیا ہے

بصیرت ایک دولت ہی تھی آخر

سو دولت کو بصیرت کر دیا ہے

کئی ہمدم نکل آئے ہیں جب سے

زباں کو صرف غیبت کر دیا ہے

سخن کے باب میں بھی ہم نے اسلمؔ

جو کرنا تھا بہ عجلت کر دیا ہے
