اس بلندی پہ کہاں تھے پہلے

اب جو بادل ہیں دھواں تھے پہلے

نقش مٹتے ہیں تو آتا ہے خیال

ریت پر ہم بھی کہاں تھے پہلے

اب ہر اک شخص ہے اعزاز طلب

شہر میں چند مکاں تھے پہلے

آج شہروں میں ہیں جتنے خطرے

جنگلوں میں بھی کہاں تھے پہلے

لوگ یوں کہتے ہیں اپنے قصے

جیسے وہ شاہ جہاں تھے پہلے

ٹوٹ کر ہم بھی ملا کرتے تھے

بے وفا تم بھی کہاں تھے پہلے

naqsh miTte hain to aata hai KHayal
ret par hum bhi kahan the pahle

aaj shahron mein hain jitne KHatre
jangalon mein bhi kahan the pahle

log yun kahte hain apne qisse
jaise wo shah-jahan the pahle

TuT kar hum bhi mila karte the
