تم تھے اور آلام بہت تھے

اور وہ صبح و شام بہت تھے

تجھ میں بھی کچھ بات ہے ورنہ

دیوانے بدنام بہت تھے

میں ہی رہا اک پیاس کا مارا

میخانے میں جام بہت تھے

چند ہی نظریں واں تک پہنچیں

نظارے سر بام بہت تھے

زانو و سر کی لاج رہی ہے

پہرے تو ہر گام بہت تھے

آپ مرا کیوں دم بھرتے ہیں

مجھ پر ہی الزام بہت تھے

فکر دورؔ کو تم سے پہلے

تیرے میرے کام بہت تھے
