صبحیں اپنی ہیں نہ شامیں اپنی

آپ نے بھی نہ منایا آخر

قید تھے ہم بھی انا میں اپنی

دوست ہیں اپنے مہرباں کتنے

سنگ باری ہے دشا میں اپنی

کون کیسے گرا دے دھوکے سے

تھامے رہیے گا لگامیں اپنی

روز اٹھتا ہے جنازہ اپنا

روز جلتے ہیں چتا میں اپنی

اور باقی بچا ہے کیا فاروقؔ

تجھ کو مانگا جو دعا میں اپنی

subhen apni hain na shamen apni

aap ne bhi na manaya aaKHir
qaid the hum bhi ana mein apni

dost hain apne mehrban kitne
sang-bari hai disha mein apni

kaun kaise gira de dhoke se
thame rahiyega lagamen apni

roz uThta hai janaza apna
roz jalte hain chita mein apni

aur baqi bacha hai kya 'faruq'
