کہنے سننے کا عجب دونوں طرف جوش رہا

شہر کی باتوں پہ صحرا ہمہ تن گوش رہا

آنکھوں آنکھوں میں وضاحت سے ہوا کیں باتیں

چپ نہ محفل میں وہ بیٹھا نہ میں خاموش رہا

رکھ دیا وقت نے آئینہ بنا کر مجھ کو

رو بہ رو ہوتے ہوئے بھی میں فراموش رہا

مدتوں بعد نقاب اس نے اٹھائی رخ سے

سر بسر شعلہ وہ نکلا جو سیہ پوش رہا

ٹھہرا اظہار کی حسرت کو چھپانا مشکل

بن گیا بولتی تصویر جو خاموش رہا

دھوپ کی تھی جہاں فصلوں کو ضرورت راہیؔ

بادلوں میں وہیں سورج کہیں روپوش رہا
