بنا دیکھے تجھے اپنا بنا کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں

بنا دیکھے تجھے اپنا بنا کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں

میں تیرے آستاں پر سر جھکا کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں

سنا ہے راز چاہت کا چھپانا سخت مشکل ہے

تری تصویر آنکھوں میں چھپا کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں

اندھیرے دل کی بستی کے بھی شاید دور ہو جائیں

میں تیرے نام کی مشعل جلا کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں

شکایت دوستوں کی ہے مرے احباب کے لب پر

چلو اب دشمنوں کو آزما کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں

وہ گل جان بہار آرزو ہے لوگ کہتے ہیں

اسے شاخ تمنا پر سجا کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں

مجھ کچھ بھی نہیں حاصل ہوا اونچی اڑانوں سے

قدم اپنی زمیں پر اب جما کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں

دعا اپنے لیے میں نے کبھی مانگی نہیں کوئی

تری خاطر میں ہاتھ اپنے اٹھا کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں

پروں میں ان کے کتنی طاقت پرواز باقی ہے

پرندے اپنی سوچوں کے اڑا کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں

کہاں پہنچے گا میرا کاروان شوق اے شاہدؔ

میں اپنے آپ کو رہبر بنا کر دیکھ لیتا ہوں
