شور ہے اس سبزۂ رخسار کا

آج طوطی بولتا ہے یار کا

کس ادا سے ہاتھ رکھا قبضے پر

پڑ گیا پتلی میں دم تلوار کا

اشک بے تاثیر سے ہوں آب آب

عقدہ ہوں میں آنسوؤں کے تار کا

بجھ گیا میرا چراغ زندگی

دیکھ کر وہ قمقمہ رخسار کا

کس مرض کی ہے دوا عناب لب

خط‌ رخ نسخہ ہے کس بیمار کا

اب کی ایسی ہار ہے فصل بہار

گل ہے بتخالہ زبان خار کا

ابروئے غلماں ہے وہ محراب در

زلف حورا سایہ ہے دیوار کا

لینے والے لے گئے ہوش و حواس

بک گیا سودا مرے بازار کا

جب میں نکلا خلق نے گھیرا مجھے

میرا سودا قرض ہے بازار کا

جوۓ جنت ہے چہرے صیاد کی

میری گردن پر ہے حق گلزار کا

آب کاری کی ہو خدمت بحرؔ کو

نا خدا ہے کشتیٔ میخوار کا
