ایک دن رات ڈھلے یوم حساب آئے گا

مطمئن ایسے کہ ہر گام یہی سوچتے ہیں

اس سفر میں کوئی صحرا نہ سراب آئے گا

یہ جوانی تو بڑھاپے کی طرح گزرے گی

عمر جب کاٹ چکوں گا تو شباب آئے گا

کب مری آنکھوں میں خوں رنگ کرن اترے گی

رات کی شاخ پہ کب عکس گلاب آئے گا

زرد مٹی میں گھلی سبز توانائی نجیبؔ

اب ذرا آنکھ لگی ہے تو یہ خواب آئے گا
