دن سلیقے سے اگا رات ٹھکانے سے رہی

دوستی اپنی بھی کچھ روز زمانے سے رہی

چند لمحوں کو ہی بنتی ہیں مصور آنکھیں

زندگی روز تو تصویر بنانے سے رہی

اس اندھیرے میں تو ٹھوکر ہی اجالا دے گی

رات جنگل میں کوئی شمع جلانے سے رہی

فاصلہ چاند بنا دیتا ہے ہر پتھر کو

دور کی روشنی نزدیک تو آنے سے رہی

شہر میں سب کو کہاں ملتی ہے رونے کی جگہ

اپنی عزت بھی یہاں ہنسنے ہنسانے سے رہی
