وحشتیں کیسی ہیں خوابوں سے الجھتا کیا ہے

ایک دنیا ہے اکیلی تو ہی تنہا کیا ہے

داد دے ظرف سماعت تو کرم ہے ورنہ

تشنگی ہے مری آواز کی نغمہ کیا ہے

بولتا ہے کوئی ہر آن لہو میں میرے

پر دکھائی نہیں دیتا یہ تماشا کیا ہے

جس تمنا میں گزرتی ہے جوانی میری

میں نے اب تک نہیں جانا وہ تمنا کیا ہے

یہ مری روح کا احساس ہے آنکھیں کیا ہیں

یہ مری ذات کا آئینہ ہے چہرہ کیا ہے

کاش دیکھو کبھی ٹوٹے ہوئے آئینوں کو

دل شکستہ ہو تو پھر اپنا پرایا کیا ہے

زندگی کی اے کڑی دھوپ بچا لے مجھ کو

پیچھے پیچھے یہ مرے موت کا سایہ کیا ہے
