جوانی کیا ہوئی اک رات کی کہانی ہوئی

بدن پرانا ہوا روح بھی پرانی ہوئی

کوئی عزیز نہیں ما سوائے ذات ہمیں

اگر ہوا ہے تو یوں جیسے زندگانی ہوئی

نہ ہوگی خشک کہ شاید وہ لوٹ آئے پھر

یہ کشت گزرے ہوئے ابر کی نشانی ہوئی

تم اپنے رنگ نہاؤ میں اپنی موج اڑوں

وہ بات بھول بھی جاؤ جو آنی جانی ہوئی

میں اس کو بھول گیا ہوں وہ مجھ کو بھول گیا

تو پھر یہ دل پہ کیوں دستک سی ناگہانی ہوئی

کہاں تک اور بھلا جاں کا ہم زیاں کرتے

بچھڑ گیا ہے تو یہ اس کی مہربانی ہوئی
