ہوا سے زرد پتے گر رہے ہیں

کتابوں کے ورق بکھرے پڑے ہیں

اسی پانی میں مچھلی کا مکاں ہے

اسی پانی میں پیاسے ہم مرے ہیں

جہاں گلزار کھلتا تھا ہنسی کا

وہیں چمگادڑوں کے گھونسلے ہیں

اندھیرے میں ڈرا دیتے ہیں ہم کو

یہ کپڑے کھونٹیوں پر جو ٹنگے ہیں

کبھی تو خاک میں وہ بھی ملیں گے

ابھی جو چاند سے فکریؔ بنے ہیں
