ساری دنیا کے تعلق سے جو سوچا جاتا

آدمی اتنے قبیلوں میں نہ بانٹا جاتا

دل کا احوال نہ پوچھو کہ بہت روز ہوئے

اس خرابے کی طرف میں نہیں آتا جاتا

زندگی تشنہ دہانی کا سفر تھی شاید

ہم جدھر جاتے اسی راہ پہ صحرا جاتا

شام ہوتے ہی کوئی شمع جلا رکھنی تھی

جب دریچے سے ہوا آتی تو دیکھا جاتا

روشنی اپنے گھروندوں میں چھپی تھی ورنہ

شہر کے شہر پہ شب خون نہ مارا جاتا

سارے کاغذ پہ بچھی تھیں مری آنکھیں قیصرؔ

اتنے آنسو تھے کہ اک حرف نہ لکھا جاتا
