رفیق خیال

دور تک دشت میں اجالا ہے

جانے کس قہر کا حوالہ ہے

پھر اگلنے لگی ہے آگ زمیں

پھر کوئی قتل ہونے والا ہے

شہر خوش بخت کا مکیں ہوں مگر

گرد میرے غموں کا ہالہ ہے

دل نے غم کا الاؤ لفظوں میں

کس مہارت سے آج ڈھالا ہے

جرم سرزد ہوا تھا آدم سے

مجھ کو جنت سے کیوں نکالا ہے

تیری اک آرزو نے لوگوں کو

کس قدر الجھنوں میں ڈالا ہے

اک سزا یافتۂ عشق نے آج

منصب عشق پھر سنبھالا ہے

پھر خیالؔ ستم زدہ میں کوئی

خوشبو انگیز مثل لالہ ہے
