کب کھیت امیدوں کے تہہ آب نہ آئے
کس رت میں نراشاؤں کے سیلاب نہ آئے
کچھ لوگ مدد کو تو کناروں پہ کھڑے تھے
پر ڈوبنے والے ہی سر آب نہ آئے
اے زیست ہوئے دوست مرے سرخ رو جن سے
مجھ کو تری محفل کے وہ آداب نہ آئے
اس شہر میں شرمندہ ہر اک در پہ نہ ہوتے
کیوں ہاتھوں کو ہم سنگ تلے داب نہ آئے
ڈرتا ہوں صباؔ کسرت باران کرم سے
دل ریت کا گھر ہے کہیں سیلاب نہ آئے
