ہم جو نا معلوم ازل اور
لامتناہی ابد کے بیچ میں ہوتے ہیں
ہم جو گزرنے والے ہیں
ہم کو باقی رہ جانے کی فکر بھی کیوں لاحق رہتی ہے
لوگ بھلا دیں گے اس ڈر سے
میری بھی کچھ نظمیں ہیں قرطاس پہ جو تحریر ہوئیں
لیکن یہ بھی جانتی ہوں میں
میری قبر کے کتبے پر بھی شاید
میرا نام نہ ہوگا

hum jo guzarne wale hain
hum ko baqi rah jaane ki fikr bhi kyon lahaq rahti hai
log bhula denge is Dar se
meri bhi kuchh nazmen hain qirtas pe jo tahrir huin
lekin ye bhi jaanti hun main
meri qabr ke katbe par bhi shayad
mera nam na hoga
