درد میں شدت احساس نہیں تھی پہلے
زندگی رام کا بن باس نہیں تھی پہلے
ہم بھی سو جاتے تھے معصوم فرشتوں کی طرح
اور یہ رات بھی حساس نہیں تھی پہلے
ہم نے اس بار تجھے جسم سے ہٹ کر سوچا
شاعری روح کی عکاس نہیں تھی پہلے
تیری فرقت ہی اداسی کا سبب ہے اب کے
تیری قربت بھی ہمیں راس نہیں تھی پہلے
تیری آنکھوں نے کہیں کا نہیں رکھا ہم کو
اتنی شدت کی ہمیں پیاس نہیں تھی پہلے
راہ چلتے ہوئے ہم مڑ کے نہیں دیکھتے تھے
راستے میں تری بو باس نہیں تھی پہلے

aur ye raat bhi hassas nahin thi pahle
hum ne is bar tujhe jism se haT kar socha
shairi ruh ki akkas nahin thi pahle
teri furqat hi udasi ka sabab hai ab ke
teri qurbat bhi hamein ras nahin thi pahle
teri aankhon ne kahin ka nahin rakha hum ko
itni shiddat ki hamein pyas nahin thi pahle
rah chalte hue hum muD ke nahin dekhte the
raste mein teri bu-bas nahin thi pahle
