مسافت عمر میں زیاں کا حساب ہوتا ہے جستجو سے

مگر میں دنیا کو دیکھتا ہوں چراغ اور آئنے کی رو سے

میں اس گل خواب کی معیت میں سانس لیتے بھی ڈر رہا ہوں

کہ شاخ بڑھنے سے بیشتر ہی نہ قطع ہو خواہش نمو سے

نشاط اظہار پر اگرچہ روا نہیں اعتبار کرنا

مگر یہ سچ ہے کہ آدمی کا سراغ ملتا ہے گفتگو سے

میں ایک مدت سے اس جہاں کا اسیر ہوں اور سوچتا ہوں

یہ خواب ٹوٹے گا کس قدم پر یہ رنگ چھوٹے گا کب لہو سے

یہ مشعل خواب بھی نہ ساجدؔ کسی ستارے کی پیش رو ہو

کہ میرے سینے میں ایک غم نے نمود پائی ہے آرزو سے
