کل شب میں شہر عشق سے لوٹا جو اپنے گھر
دروازے طعنے کسنے لگا میرے حال پر
بولا دریچہ کیسے اکیلے ادھر جناب
کیوں اور کہاں پہ چھوٹ گیا ہم سفر جناب
چپ جو ہوا دریچہ تو گونجی صدائے بام
اب کر سکو گے سائے تلے میرے تم قیام
دیوار بولی کرکے مخاطب تمام کو
محتاج ہو گیا ہے بیچارہ کلام کو
اک ہو گئے دریچہ و دیوار و بام و در
میں چپ ہی تھا کہ بول پڑا سارا گھر کا گھر
پائی تھی کائنات ہی تم نے تو پیار میں
کیوں لٹ کے پھر تم آ گئے ہو اس حصار میں

chup jo hua daricha to gunji sada-e-baam
ab kar sakoge sae tale mere tum qiyam
diwar boli karke muKHatab tamam ko
muhtaj ho gaya hai bechaara kalam ko
ek ho gae daricha-o-diwar-o-baam-o-dar
main chup hi tha ki bol paDa sara ghar ka ghar
pai thi kaenat hi tum ne to pyar mein
kyon luT ke phir tum aa gae ho is hisar mein
