اپاہج باپ کو بیٹا اکیلا چھوڑ جاتا ہے

اپاہج باپ کو بیٹا اکیلا چھوڑ جاتا ہے
مصیبت میں تو اکثر ساتھ سایہ چھوڑ جاتا ہے
گھنیرا ہو شجر کتنا نہیں شاداب گر شاخیں
تو ان شاخوں پہ پھر آنا پرندہ چھوڑ جاتا ہے
اٹھا پاتا نہیں خالی شکم جب بوجھ بستے کا
مٹانے بھوک بچپن کی وہ بستہ چھوڑ جاتا ہے
قلم ہونا تھا جس کے ہاتھ میں تھامے وہ خنجر ہے
کہیں علم و ادب کا اپنا رستا چھوڑ جاتا ہے
حفاظت ملک کی کرتا ہے انتم سانس تک اپنی
وہی پیچھے بلکتا ایک رشتہ چھوڑ جاتا ہے

ghanera ho shajar kitna nahin shadab gar shaKHen
to in shaKHon pe phir aana parinda chhoD jata hai
uTha pata nahin KHali shikam jab bojh baste ka
miTane bhuk bachpan ki wo basta chhoD jata hai
qalam hona tha jis ke hath mein thame wo KHanjar hai
kahin ilm-o-adab ka apna rasta chhoD jata hai
hifazat mulk ki karta hai antim sans tak apni
wahi pichhe bilakta ek rishta chhoD jata hai
