خوب تم تحفۂ عاشقی دے گئے

آنکھوں میں عمر بھر کی نمی دے گئے

دھوپ میں دے کے سایہ یہ بوڑھے شجر

کتنے پیڑوں کو شاخیں ہری دے گئے

حادثے زندگی میں کچھ ایسے ہوئے

دشمنوں سے جو وابستگی دے گئے

ان کے جلووں کی ہے بات ہی کچھ الگ

عشق کو میرے شائستگی دے گئے

آنکھ ادب زلف تہذیب عارض سخن

اور ترے لب مجھے شاعری دے گئے

dhup mein de ke saya ye buDhe shajar
kitne peDon ko shaKHen hari de gae

hadse zindagi mein kuchh aise hue
dushmanon se jo wabastagi de gae

un ke jalwon ki hai baat hi kuchh alag
ishq ko mere shaistagi de gae

aankh adab zulf tahzib aariz suKHan
aur tere lab mujhe shairi de gae
