تجھ سے کیا کیا خیال رکھتے تھے

نہ سنا تو نے کیا کہیں ظالم

ورنہ ہم عرض حال رکھتے تھے

نہ رہا انتظار بھی اے یاس

ہم امید وصال رکھتے تھے

جوہر آئینہ نیں دکھلایا

سادہ رو جو کمال رکھتے تھے

نہ سنا تھا کسو نے یہ تو غرور

سبھی دلبر جمال رکھتے تھے

آہ وہ دن گئے کہ ہم بھی اثرؔ

دل کو اپنے سنبھال رکھتے تھے
